Elise Eskilsdotter : ウィキペディア英語版 | Elise Eskilsdotter Elise Eskilsdotter (died c. 1483), was a politically active Norwegian noblewoman and pirate. Elise was the daughter of a knight from Scania, and married the Norwegian knight Olav Nilsson in 1430. In 1455, her spouse was assassinated by the powerful German colony in Bergen. She was the fiefholder of Ryfylke, and from the 1460s onward, she and her children led open warfare against the German merchant-class of Bergen by means of piracy against their trade. She was also an opponent of the Danish rule over Norway. In 1468, king Christian I of Denmark confiscated her fief with the motivation that he no longer trusted her loyalty. Similar to many other members of the Norwegian nobility, she did oppose the Danish rule in Norway. ==Notes==
